Buet student found dead at dormitory

Dhaka, Oct 7 – A student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) was found dead at the institution’s Sher-E-Bangla residential hall on Monday morning. The deceased was identified as Abrar Fahad, 21, a 2nd-year student of electrical and electronics engineering department of the university. The incident took place at around 3:00 am in a room on the 1st floor of the hall.
Later, the Buet students and hall authorities brought the body to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) at around 6:00 am. He hailed from Kushtia, UNB reported
Dr Masuk Elahi, a teacher of the university said, being informed by students that a body was spotted between the ground floor and 1st floor of the hall, he reached there and found Fahad dead.
“Several injury marks were found in different parts of the body”, he said.
Another report said the student of (Buet) was allegedly beaten to death by some unidentified people at a room of Sher-e-Bangla Hall at Chawkbazar area in the capital early Monday.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Chawkbazar police station Sohrab Hossein Farhad confirmed the death, adding that they are trying to know the details.
The Buet student was reportedly found spreading messages critical of the latest deals between India and Bangladesh in the social media, several times.
On Sunday (5 October 2019) he wrote a post criticising Bangladesh-India MoUs, Campus sources indicates sharing some of his recent posts in the social media.
