Two people were killed when a bus hit a covered van from behind in Jagannathdighi area under Chouddogram upazila of Cumilla early Saturday.Ten bus passengers were also hurt in the accident that took place at about 2am.
The deceased were identified as covered van driver Abdul Quader, 46, of Chattogram, and the bus supervisor Abdul Hakim, 35, of Dhaka.
AKM Sharfuddin, in-charge of Miabazar highway police outpost, said a bus of ‘Ena Paribahan’ hit a covered van from behind when the later one ploughed through a road divider, leaving two dead on the spot.
Members of Fire Service and Civil Defence and police rescued the injured people and admitted them to different hospitals in the upazila.
