Busan Film Festival to screen ‘Sincerely Yours, Dhaka’ Intekhab Dinar in a scene of film anthology ‘Sincerely Yours, Dhaka’.“Sincerely Yours, Dhaka,” the first film anthology of Bangladesh, will be screened at the 23rd Busan Film Festival, scheduled to begin October 4. It will be the only Bangladeshi movie competing in the international film festival considered to be the biggest in Asia.

The film will compete in the “Window on Asian Cinema” category, which is well known for featuring both talented young film-makers and long-established directors of Asian cinema.

A total of 323 films from 79 countries will be screened at this year’s Busan Film Festival. Among the films to be screened, 115 had a world premiere and 25 had international premieres.

‘Sincerely Yours, Dhaka’ is an anthology of short films with the central theme being the capital of Bangladesh: Dhaka. The short films were made by 11 directors whose names are Abdullah Al Noor, Golam Kibria Farooki, Krishnendu Chattopadhyay, Mahmudul Islam, Md Robiul Alam, Mir Mukarram Hossain, Nuhash Humayun, Rahat Rahman, Syed Ahmed Shawki, Syed Saleh Ahmed Sobhan and Tanvir Ahsan.

According to a source at Impress Telefilms, the film is currently in post-production and will be sent to the censor board soon. The date of release in Bangladeshi cinema halls will be announced after the film gets clearance from the board.

Being the first film anthology of Bangladesh it has a big cast. More than 30 actors will be featured in this film, and their names will be announced separately very soon, along with the names of artistes and crew who worked in the production.

Abu Shahed Emon was the creative producer of this anthology film under the banner of Impress Telefilms Ltd. The executive producers for the film were Faridur Reza Sagar and Ebne Hasan Khan.
