Case filed over Chattogram case documents theft

Chattogram, Apr 3 (UNB) – A case has been filed in connection with the theft of documents and evidences of four cases from the police storeroom at the district court building.

Inspector (prosecution) Bijan Barua filed the case around 1am on Wednesday at Kotwali Police Station, said Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Mohsin.

According to case statement, evidences and documents of four cases filed with as many police stations had been stolen.

The burglary was noticed on March 18 and later, two police constables were suspended.

The missing evidences are – two hundi token in a money laundering case filed with Fatikchhari police in September 2004; 12 hundi token in another money laundering case filed with Hathazari police in July 2005; evidence of a case filed under Special Powers Act with Patiya Thana in October 2005; and evidence of a drug case filed in April 2018 with Fatikchhari police.
