Close-circuit television cameras (CCTVs) will be installed at every highways and important roads for ensuring safety on roads to lessen the number of accidents.
State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Md Mashiur Rahman Ranga said this while addressing a roundtable organized by Democracy International and Dhaka Tribune at FR Tower in the city’s Panthapath.
Four transport companies will be formed primarily to reform transport system and check drivers’ reckless driving in the capital city as well, he said.
The state minister said the ruling government has implemented ‘Safety Rapid Strategic Transport Plan-2015-2035’ to build a planned and comprehensive transport system and started initiatives to produce one lakh drivers under the project.
