Champa, Jaya to meet at judges’ panel

The two popular actresses Champa and Jaya  from two generation are sitting together in the judges’ panel. They are both going to judge the ‘Notun Mukher Sondhane’, one of the Bangladeshi film industry’s premier talent pipelines that returned after 27 years.Popular film actress Champa used to rule Dhallywood industry in 80s and 90s. She has given many blockbuster films and has received Bangladesh National Film Awards a couple of times. Although she is not currently busy with shooting any films, she has a glowing presence in film related programs.

On the other hand, Jaya Ahsan is a big name for the current generation in Dhallywood. At the same time, she has gained fame in both Bangladeshi and Kolkata film arena. She has received National Film Award from both Kolkata and Bangladesh. The ‘Zero Degree’ famed actress is super busy with acting in both the film industry.

The judges’ panel was revealed at a magnetic program held on September 17. Besides Champa and Jaya, the judges’ panel also includes some prominent names like Amzad Hossain, Alamgir and Afzal Hossain. All together, they are going to find the promising artistes for the film industry.
Back in 1984, ‘Natun Mukher Sondhane’ (In search of new face) was organized for the first time in the country to discover new artistes for the film industry. Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) found out noted artistes like Manna, Parveen Sultana Diti, Misha Sawdagar, Rasheda Chowdhury, Amin Khan and Shohel Chowdhury through the contest.
The talent hunt kicked off with an aiming to find out new hero, heroine, comedian, child artiste and villain for the film industry. A launching ceremony of the contest took place on September 16 at 6:55pm at the Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden in the capital. To note, BFDC organised ‘Natun Mukher Sondhane’ three more times earlier.
