Dhaka – Dhaka Abahani Limited emerged unbeaten Group B champions to reach the semifinal of the Marcel Club Cup Hockey beating Dhaka Mohammedan SC Ltd by 4-2 goals in the last group match at the Maulana Bhasani National Stadium here on Wednesday.Abahani will play the 2nd semifinal against the Group A runners-up Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club on Saturday at 4 pm while Group A champions Usha KC will face Group B runners-up Dhaka Mohammedan SC on Friday at the same time and same venue.The final match will be held on Monday.In the day’s 2nd match, Maksud Alam Habul struck twice in the 6th and 11th minutes, Shafqat Rasul and Rumman Sarkar netted one each in the 8th and 51st minutes respectively for Abahani. Taposh Borman and Din Islam scored for Mohammedan in the 40th and 58th minutes respectively.Earlier in the day’s first match, Sinali Bank SRC outplayed all losers Wari Club by 6-2 goals at the same venue.Rocky scored three, Prosenjit two and Belal one for the winners while Samir Roy scored the both the goals for the losers in the 16th and 63 minutes.
