Coronavirus: 39 Bangladeshis return home from India

A special flight of NOVOAIR brought back 39 stranded Bangladeshis from Kolkata in India on Sunday amid coronavirus pandemic.“The special flight with 39 Bangladesh citizens left Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport at at 3:37 pm and arrived here at 5:18 pm,” said a press release from NOVOAIR.
The press release said flights between India and Bangladesh remained suspended since March 15 thanks to coronavirus pandemic.
According to Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, more than 3,000 Bangladeshi citizens, including patients and students, have so far returned home from a number of Indian cities by special chartered flights or roads until May 12.
The government, in coordination with its High Commissions and Embassies in different countries, brought back thousands of stranded Bangladeshis home during the last two months, reports UNB.
