Virus death toll in BD climbs to 1,888 with 41 more deaths

Dhaka, July 1: Bangladesh’s COVID-19 death toll climbed to 1,888 on Wednesday as 41 people died in last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 3,775 more confirmed cases reported after testing 17,875 samples at 69 labs across country, Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana said at the daily bulletin this afternoon.
Now, the number of positive cases reached 1,49,258.
The current infection rate is 21.12 per cent while the death rate at 1.26 percent.
Dr Nasima informed that one more laboratory has been set up in Gazipur for corona test.
The DGHS requested all to be aware of snake bite and drowning during flood. It is also working in flood-affected areas.
Some 2,484 more patients made recovery from the deadly virus, raising the total recovery number to 62,102.
The present recovery rate is 41.61 percent.
