The Centre for Research and Information (CRI) on Thursday expressed deep shock at the premature death of former Member of Parliament, lawyer and politician Fazilatun Nasa Bappy. “CRI deeply mourns the untimely demise of Fazilatun Nasa Bappy. Her absence will be felt in Bangladesh’s political and legal fields,” CRI said in a condolence message.
Bappy was involved with various historical research, youth and women focused initiatives of CRI and was always eager to contribute to every way she could, the message reads.
CRI said Bappy was a research-driven person with great oratory skills, demonstrated by her speeches in Parliament and comments in TV talk shows.
“CRI expresses its great sorrow at this loss and expresses its condolences for her bereaved family members,” the message reads further.
Bappy was undergoing treatment at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and breathed her last around 8:30am on Thursday at the hospital. She was 49, reports UNB.
