Black Caps coach Mike Hesson’s lamenting another disappointing batting effort in Bangladesh after losing the ODI series overnight.The hosts have won the second one dayer by 40 runs in Dhaka, dismissing New Zealand for 207 after posting 247.
Hesson says their top order isn’t firing in a hostile environment.
“Bangladesh know the conditions pretty well and are able to put pressure on us. We threatened a few times with partnerships, but as soon as we got ourselves close to parody we lost a wicket.
“We struggled to make good decisions under pressure I think’s fair.”
The Black Caps face the prospect of a series whitewash.
Captain Brendon McCullum admits they haven’t been good enough.
“We’ve been put under pressure by Bangladesh in this tour and they certainly have performed well.
“And we just need to tidy up a few of those lose areas, because once you give these guys a sniff they certainly charge at you.”
He says they simply haven’t hit their straps.
“We’ve been a little bit rusty as a unit. We’ve had a pretty decent preparation as well, so there’s no excuses from that point of view.
“But we haven’t managed to capture our form that we’ve shown in the one day game in recent past.”
The Black Caps will look to avoid a clean sweep in the third one dayer on Sunday. –iHeartradio via google
