Train communications of Chittagong with Dhaka and Sylhet, which remained suspended following a derailment in Gangasagar area of Akhaura upazila, resumed after about 10 hours early Monday.
Sources at Akhaura railway station said two wheels of a bogie of a Dhaka-bound train veered off the tracks in the area around 6:00pm on Sunday.The accident halted train plying on the Chittagong-Dhaka and Chittagong-Sylhet routes.The train services resumed at 3:30pm after a relief train from Akhaura
rushed to the spot and salvaged the derailed compartment, the sources added.However, there was no report of any casualty in the accident. Several trains got stranded at stations on both sides. -UNB, Brahmanbaria
