Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin in a statement on Saturday urged the city dwellers to be more vigilant so that Dengue could not be spread such as Coronavirus.Mentioning that stagnant water is the breeding ground of Aedes mosquito, the city Mayor urged the city dwellers to remain careful so that water cannot be stored in and around their respective houses.
Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) is spraying larvicidal drugs for the destruction of
mosquito larvae and the adult mosquitoes, he said.
“It is perfect time to breed Aedes mosquitoes. So, there is no alternative to create mass awareness in this regard,” he added.
He said that the spraying of special mosquito repulsive drugs has already started at 41 wards under the city corporation.
The mayor said that Bangabandhu daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given clear instructions to ensure cent percent elimination of mosquito from the city.
In addition to spraying disinfected water in every ward to prevent the transmission of corona virus side by side larvicidal drugs are being sprayed to kill mosquitoes, he added.
