Chittagong University under lockdown for 14 days

The authority of Chittagong University (CU) has put its campus under 14-day lockdown.The lockdown began from Saturday morning and will continue until July 17.
The university acting registrar Prof SM Manirul Hasan confirmed the matter.
Meanwhile, the emergency activities of the university will be conducted from the office of the Institute of Fine Arts in Chattogram city.
After an emergency meeting with the syndicate members of the University, Vice-Chancellor Prof Shirin Akhtar took the decision.
After Deputy Registrar Mohammad Jahangir of the Vice-Chancellor’s office contracted coronavirus last week, the authority imposed lockdown to curb the spread of novel coronavirus in the area.
Besides, two COVID-19 cases were reported in Shobha Colony, a residential area for the staffs adjacent to the gate no: 2 of CU.
