Poet Asad Chowdhury presented the keynote paper at the event
A commemoration programme has been held in honour of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam at the National Music and Dance Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital on August 27. In the cultural session of the programme artistes like MR Wasek, Farhana Chowdhury Baby, Rachel Priyanka Paris presented their mastery over choreography director. They dictated dance recitals to the melodies of Nazul’s songs like “Srishty Sukher Ullash-E”, “Chol Chol Chol”, “Rimjhim Rimjhim Namilo Deyal” etc.
Following a discussion session the cultural session featured fifteen different segments at the programme. It was held on the occasion of the 42nd death anniversary of Kazi Nazrul Islam. Poet Asad Chowdhury was the key speaker at the event. Sohrab Uddin, director of Department of Music, Dance and Recitation at the academy presided over the programme.
Sumaiya Binet Alam, Sabiha Pushpita performed songs among others. Child artistes of Bangladesh Shishu Acadmy also chipped in with group renditions of songs while trainees of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy performed dances.
