Dhaka – Bangladesh Grand Master Ziaur Rahman of Saif SC maintained his 3rd slot in the 17th Delhi International Open Grandmaster Chess Tournament’2019 with 18 other players securing 6.5 points after the 9th and penultimate round held in the Indian capital New Delhi on Tuesday.Bangladeshi FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman, also from Saif SC, earned 5.5 points, FM Mehdi Hasan Parag
and Tahsin Tajwar Zia of Golden SC collected 4.5 points each, Md. Abzid Rahman of Janata Bank and Sazzad Kishor of Dhaka Knight’s CC bagged 4 points each while Ali Ahsan Jewel secured 2 points after the 9th round.
In the day’s 9th round, GM Zia drew with Paichadze Luka of Georgia, FM Fahad drew with Pimpalkhare Vedant of India, FM Parag drew with Bhavesh Mahajan of India, Tahsin beat Sayantan Chandra of India,Sazzad got walk-over against WCM Isha Sharma of India, Abzid lost to Mushini Ajay and Jewel lost to Yashasvi Gupta of India.UNB
