Tollywood’s heartthrob Dev has been cast as one of the leads in the upcoming joint production between India and Bangladesh. Jazz Multimedia from Bangladesh and SK Movies f
rom India will jointly bring in the production. Details of the production itself have not been released.
Bangladeshi film star Mahiya Mahi is likely to be cast opposite to the Tollywood superstar, however, the matter still requires a final confirmation.
“SK Movies prefer Mahiya Mahi as her film Agenee was received well by the audience in Kolkata,” Jazz Multimedia Chairman Abdul Aziz said.
“We had our final talk with Dev. Now, we are just waiting for the formal deal,” he added.
“Neither the director nor the actress has been confirmed. However, sources said that Ashok Dhanukar from SK Movies prefer Mahi,” said Abdul Aziz.
In a recent interview, Ashok Dhanukar said: “Nusrat Faria’s films could drag much audience in Kolkata, whereas Mahi’s Agnee did well. Although Mahi’s Romeo and Juliet did not gain much profits, we are still considering her for the production.”
