Currently, Dhaka WASA has a daily surplus of 17 crore litres of water, LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Syed Ashraful Islam told Parliament on Thursday.
The Dhaka WASA has achieved a daily production capacity of 242 crore liters of water against the city dwellers’ demand of 225 crore liters water, he said replying to a starred question of SM Abul Kalam Azad (Dhaka-17).Answering another starred question of Rezaul Haque Chowdhury (Kushtia-1), the LGRD Minister said the Public Health Engineering Department under the Local Government Division runs six projects for ensuring supply of safe drinking water in 143 municipalities. – UNB
