Dhakabashi Kite Festival ends in capital

Dhaka – A four-day kite festival held at Bangladesh Shlilpakala Academy (BSA) concludes on Monday, unb news agency reported.
Dhakabashi, a preservation group working for the capital, organized the festival to promote the traditional culture of Old Dhaka.Food Minister Advocate Qamrul Islam was present at the inaugural ceremony held on May 6. “If we want to protect Dhaka, we have to preserve our traditional culture. This culture will represent the Old Dhaka to the new generation and all,” he said on the occasion.
Visiting the exhibition, different types of traditional kites were displayed on the wall. Organizers informed these kites were brought from China, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia and some other countries. Kites from Bangladesh were also displayed.
