Discussants at a programme in Narayanganj n Sunday stressed united
efforts of all concerned side by side with creating a mass social
awareness about prevention and treatment of tuberculosis (TB), a
completely curable disease.
They were addressing the programme styled “Tuberculosis Control
Programme: Participation of All” organised by Health Department, BRAC
and District Civil Surgeon Office Narayanganj, at Zila Parishad
auditorium.
The speakers called upon all to play a positive role in creating
awareness among the people to control the disease in the district.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Dulal Chandra Choudhury presided over the discussion
meeting.
Dr Dulal Chandra said Narayanganj has about 2,365 TB patients in five
upazilas. BRAC is supplying world standard drugs to the patients. The
government has spent over Taka 25 lakh to control TB in the district,
he added.
