Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia on Tuesday said they will launch a massive campaign among city dwellers from May for making them aware and obey the traffic rules.“The programme will be launched to create awareness among the students of schools, colleges and madrasahs in first phase from 1st week of the next month and then will spread out among the owners of vehicles and transport workers,” he said.
The DMP chief came up with the information while speaking at a function where he received the keys of two vehicles donated by two private organisations at the DMP headquarters.
“Let us come forward to unitedly build a beautiful, safe and liveable Dhaka city,” he said.
Senior police officials of DMP headquarters, Director of Prome Agro Foods Ltd Lt Col (retd) Chowdhury Farid Uddin Ahmed, director of Seven Rings Ltd Brig Gen (Retd) Ahmed Muktadir Arif and Director of TSO Associates Mahbub Chowdhury were present on the occasion.
