The president of Actors Equity Shahiduzzaman Selim announced that two documentary films on iconic actors Dilara Zaman and Masud Ali Khan will be made by the Actors Equity.
‘It was a pledge of the Actors Equity election that documentaries will be made on prominent artistes. Now we are implementing that promise a month after the elections,’ he said.
The vice president of the equity Azad Abul Kalam along with members Shams Sumon and Rajib Salehin will be forming a sub-committee to monitor and plan the documentaries. The director of the documentaries will be selected from the Director’s Guild.
Selim said, ‘We have set up a sub-committee who will be part of the research and scripting of each documentary that will be made after which the release date will be announced. It will be focused on their contribution to this sector and their life.’
Actors Equity, an association of television artistes, went to polls on June 21 to elect an executive body for 2019-2021. Forty-nine artistes contested for 21 posts, while 510 voters cast their votes in the election.
