A documentary on the politically motivated persecution of Hindu minorities in the country was premiered on February 16 at Biswa Sahitya Kendra, Bangla Motor in the city. The docu drama named ‘Bhoyer Tara’ or ‘Scare of Fear’ has been shot by photojournalist Krishna De Akash. It shows that in the face of political pressure and opportunity seekers Hindu people in Bangladesh always remain in fear. For political reasons their houses, temples are vandalized, torched prompting Hindus to leave the country.
During the premiere show a discussion session was arranged where advocate Rabindra Ghosh, President, Bangladesh Minority Watch; Shamal Kumar Rai, president Bangladesh Minority Janata Party (BMJP); Parimal Chandar Rai, president Sanatan Bidyarthi Sangsad and a victim of oppression Purnima Rani Shil were present.
