DSE, CSE register loss

Share price index at the country’s both the bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), again declined on Tuesday, the third trading day of the week.   The DSE benchmark index, DSEX lost 64.89 points or 1.68 percent to reach 3792.35 at close of trading. Of the 285 issues traded, 45 gained, 221 declined and 19 remained unchanged. Shares worth Tk 265.12 crore changed hands on the day.   The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE were Meghna Cement, Imam Button, Central Pharma, Mithun Knit, Legacy Food, Meghna Petroleum, Desh Garments, Jute Spinner, Modern Dying, and BD Autocar.   The CSE key index, CSCX loat 121.06 points to reach 7422.46 at the close today. Of the 208 issues traded, 20 gained, 172 declined and 16 remained unchanged. The value of the traded issues was Tk 29.51 crore.   Earlier, in the morning, DSEX lost 12.70 points or 0.32 percent to reach 3844.54 at 11:25 am while the CSCX lost 22.71 points to stand at 7520.81, also at 11:25 am today. – UNB
