“EasyNet” introduced by Grameenphone

EasyNet , an easy solution that will help custometrs to learn about the internet through video tutorials, try free internet sites for themselves and buy small data packages, all without an existing data subscription has been introduced by Grameenphone Ltd. Yesterday.

Yasir Azman, chief marketing officer of Grameenphone announced the new offer yesterday at a hotel in the capital.

YasirAzman said, “EasyNet will help our customers to learn about the internet and support the power of knowledge to move ahead in their lives.”

To get the opportunity customers will have to dial *5000*55# to receive a micro site link from which they may watch a video tutorial on the basic ‘what’ and the ‘how’ of the internet.

“Primarily, the easy net offer has introduced for three months and hope it will continue after that. GP has targeted to reach 7.5 lakh people who are unaware of the benefits and relevance of internet. It will be our first steps towards internet,” said the newly appointed CMO of GP.

Upon learning about the internet, users can browse through selected zero rated sites such as Facebook, Wikipedia, and others for free to experience the internet for themselves.

Customers can also buy small internet packages through the link for future use.

Grameenphone CMO said, “This solution is another indication of our commitment to provide ‘Internet for all’. Lack of awareness on Internet is a significant barrier for the spread of data services and we believe that Easy Net will help us to significantly reduce this barrier.”

Grameenphone has an ambition to provide ‘Internet for all’ in Bangladesh. The company has covered the whole country with its network and has been aggressively rolling out 3G services.

GP has also been working with different partners on reducing the price for internet-enabled devices, in its efforts to promote data in Bangladesh and help in the realization its Internet for all ambition.

Nehal Ahmed, marketing director of Grameenphone, Sayed Talat Kamal, head of external communications and Tariq-Ul-Islam, general manager, wireless & broadband of GP were also present at the press conference.
