Eid advance train ticket sale begins Aug 29

Dhaka: Bangladesh Railway will start selling the advance train tickets on August 29 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. Railways Minister M Mazibul Hoque came up with the announcement at a press briefing at his ministry on Sunday.
Tickets for September 7 journey will be available on August 29 while that for September 8 on August 30, for September 9 on August 31, for September 10 on September 1 and for September 11 on September 2. UNB News Agency Reported.

Besides, the return tickets for the journey of September 14 will be available on September 5 and that for September 15 on September 6, for September 16 on September 7, for September 17 on September 8 and for September 18 on September 9.
The ticket sale will begin at 8 am and each passenger will be able to buy maximum four tickets.
While briefing, the Railways Minister said five pairs of special trains will run on several routes from September 9 to September 11 and September 14 to September 20.
These trains are Dewanganj special (Dhaka-Dewanganj-Dhaka), Chandpur special-1 and Chandpur special-2 (Chittagong-Chandpur-Chittagong), Parbatipur Special (Parbatipur-Dhaka-Parbatipur), Khulna special (Khulna-Dhaka-Khulna).
Besides, two trains — Kishoreganj special-1 (Bhairab-Kishoreganj-Bhairab) and Kishoreganj special-2 (Mymensingh-Kishoreganj-Mymensingh) –will run on the eid day for Sholakia eid jamaat, said the minister.
Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Nirapatta Bahini (RNB), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) will be deployed for preventing sale of ticket on black market.
Meanwhile, plying of Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka Moitree train on September 11 and 12 will remain suspended due to eid.
“We have taken necessary steps for preventing any kind of sabotage. Besides, the government will take an initiative to tighten security in the moving trains, if needed and GRP police will be deployed in the trains”.
