Eid in Laxmipur, Satkhira, Chandpur, Bhola

Dhaka, Jun 25 – Dwellers of eight villages in Laxmipur, several villages in Satkhira, Chandpur and Bhola districts are celebrating the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the biggest religious festivals of the Muslims, on Sunday amid much enthusiasm and religious fervour.In Laxmipur, the villagers of Noagaon, Joypura, Bigha, Dakhshinpara in Ramganj upazila, Kolakopa village in Raipur upazila and Boshikpur, Purpa Panchpara and Mohadebpur villages in Sadar upazila are celebrating the Eid on the same day as Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries of the Middle East.
The Eid congregation of Naogaon village was held at Talimun Quran Nurani Madrasha at 10:00 am.
The followers of Mawlana Ishaq of the areas celebrate the Eid according to Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries of the Middle East.
In Satkhira, villagers of several villages are also being celebrated the Eid.
An Eid congregation conducted by Mawlana Mahabbat Ali was held at Baukhola village in Sadar upazila at 9:00 am.
Besides, another Eid congregation was held at Islamkati village in Tala upazila. Md Sayeduddin conducted the congregation.
Meanwhile, an Eid congregation was also held at Taltola in Sadar upazila.
In Chandpur, the villagers of Haziganj, Faridganj, Matlab South and Kachua upazilas are celebrating the Eid.
Main congregation of the Eid-ul-Fitr was held at Shadra Senior Madrasha premises in Shadra village under Haziganj upazila at 10:00 am, said Maulana Abu Jafar M Abdul Hye, former principal of the madrasha and eldest son of late Maulana Ishaque, who introduced this practice in 1931.
He further said devotees of these villages began fasting on the same date with the people of Saudi Arabia.
In Bhola, around 10,000 families of 14 villages in five upazilas are also celebrating Eid following Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries of the Middle East.
