Ekushey Book Fair” draws huge crowd in Khulna

With beginning of the Bangla month Falgun, Amar Ekushey Book Fair wore a festive look as thousands of enthusiastic book lovers and people from all strata thronged the fair at the Divisional Public Library premises in Boyra area by exhibiting books of different genres of literature and other areas of knowledge.
Khulna Divisional Public Library organized the month-long “Ekushey Book Fair” that begun on February 1, inaugurated by Mayor of KCC Talukder Abdul Khaleque.
Hundreds of school, college and university students crowded the different book stalls. The number of book lovers increased in the afternoon.
Member secretary of the fair organizing committee Ahsanullah told BSS that fair gaining momentum last few days and fair draws huge crowd.
“Every day new book was unveiled of different poets and writers. Side by side poem recitation and cultural programme was held every day,” he said.
Tasnia Sharmily Noshin, a student of Khulna City Medical College told BSS “I along with my friends come here to enjoy and purchase books of my favorite writers”.
A total of 43 new books hit the fair today, increasing the number of stalls 1,296 in 12 days.
The book fair remains open for all from 3 pm to 9pm on working days and 8.30 am to 9pm on government holidays with a one-hour break for lunch and offering prayers. It will continue till February 28, reports BSS from Rangpur.
