Emerging Market Iniiative Award for Robi

Robi wins Emerging Market Initiative of the year at the Asia Communication Awards 2013.
Mobile phone operator Robi Axiata Limited has been awarded the Emerging Market Initiative of the Year Award for its “BIMA and Robi – Life Insurance” service. This was announced recently at the Asia Communication Awards in Singapore.
Robi Axiata Limited launched this innovative service for the first time in the country in 2012 to offer free life insurance coverage for all its prepaid subscribers. Under this life insurance coverage each registered Robi Prepaid subscriber, aged between 18 -60 years, earns accumulating insurance coverage every calendar month by using only BDT 250 worth of talk-time each month.
The Asia Communication Awards was open to all telecommunication businesses and communication providers—recognizes the achievements of Asian telecoms companies and the individuals responsible for the innovations, achievements and great new services that are helping to build tomorrow’s industry.
This is a prestigious award determined by a high-level and respected panel of telecom experts from all over the world. To qualify for the Emerging Market initiative, companies are required to demonstrate a successful initiative serving one or more emerging markets within Asia (as defined by the World Bank). The participating companies’ demonstrated innovation, local investment in infrastructure and/or an employment strategy designed or adapted for specific conditions in the market.
Robi won the Emerging Market Initiative award for BIMA and Robi – Life Insurance service.
