A former member of Arakan Liberation Party, also known as ‘Mogh Party’, was shot dead in Kanaijopara area of Rowangchhari upazila on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Mong Sai Marma, 30, a resident of Thanchi upazila.Mong recently joined Parbatya Chattogram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS) reformist faction.
He was sitting at a tea stall with two of his friends in the morning, said Meye Ching Marma, Head man of Nayapatan Union.Assailants riding on a motorcycle and wearing masks shot him dead and abducted his friends, he said.
Officer-in-Charge of Rowangchhari Police Station Tawhid Kabir confirmed the matter and said the body was sent to Sadar Hospital for autopsy.They were also trying to rescue the two abducted men, he said.
