Dhaka, Jan 25 (UNB) – Bangladesh player FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman finished 28th in the 9th Chennai Open International Chess Tournament that ended on Wednesday.Fahad, a player of Access Chess Club, defeated FM Bala Kannamma of India in the final round to collect seven points from 10 round games. Ukraine Grandmaster Tukhaev Adam clinched the title with unbeaten record securing 8.5 points.Other Bangladesh players FM Mohammed Abdul Malek placed 73rd securing 6 points and CM Sohel Chowdhury finished 120th earning 5.5 points.Bagging five points each, WFM Zakia Sultana and Mohammad Aminul Islam placed 148th and 165th respectively.WFM Nazrana Khan Eva took 200th slot with 4.5 points while Abul Kashme secured 230th place bagging four points and Masuda Begum placed 249th with 3.5 points.A total of 317 players from 17 countries, including 16 Grandmasters, 2 Women Grandmasters and 16 International Masters, took part in the event.
