Federation Cup Football kicks off June 10

Dhaka – The Federation Cup Football Tournament, the season’s first soccer meet, will kick off on June 10 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here.Meanwhile, the home and away basis Bangladesh Premier Football League (BPL), known as Professional Football League, will begin on July 15.The decision was taken at a meeting of the Professional Football League Committee held at the BFF House on Monday afternoon with Committee Chairman and BFF Senior Vice President Abdus Salam Murshedey in the chair. Twelve teams — Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, Sheikh Russel KC, Mohammedan SC, Abahani Limited, Brothers Union, Muktijoddha Sangsad KC, Team BJMC, Soccer Club, Feni, Chittagong Abahani Ltd, Rahmatganj MFS, Uttar Baridhara and Arambagh KS — will compete in both the meets.All the Federation Cup Football matches will be held in Dhaka while the home and away basis BPL matches will be held in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhet and Mymensingh.(UNB)
