FMCH Curtain Scam: ACC files case against 6 people

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday filed a case against six people in connection with the Faridpur Medical College Hospital (FMCH) curtain purchase scam.The accused are – Abdullah Al Mamun, owner of Anik Traders, a contractor firm; Munshi Farrukh Ahmed, owner of M/s Ahmed Enterprise; Munshi Sazzad Hossain, administrative official of National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD); Dr Gonpoti Biswas Shubho, assistant professor of FMCH; its former junior consultant Dr Minakshi Chakma and former pathologist Dr AHM Nurul Islam.
They are accused of trying to embezzle Tk 10 crore in collusion with each other in the pretext of procuring medical equipment including curtains for the hospital.
On August 20, the High Court ordered the ACC to look into the irregularities and corruption in purchase for the Intensive Care Unit of FMCH. It gave six months to finish the investigation, reports UNB from Faridpur.
