Audition rounds of music reality show Gaaner Raja has started. The first session was held on October 26 in the divisional city of Rangpur. Chief judge of this round is singer Md Khurshid Alam. Co-judges are contestants of Channel i Sera Kantha-Mesbah and Bappi and Khude Gaanraj contestant Sharan. The auditions would then move on to the remaining divisions- Rajshahi, Jessore, Barisal, Sylhet, Chattogram and finally Dhaka. Auditions are being held on divisional basis.
The grand episodes would feature the tested finalists and would be aired every week on TV by Channel i. In these episodes two singers from the history of Channel i Sera Kantha would be present as judges. They are Imran Mahmudul and Konal. Imran was the first-runner up of Channel i Sera Kantha in 2008 while Konal was the winner of the contest in 2009.
