Under the initiative of Goutam Chakraborty, Galleri Kaya has organised a six day art camp at Kolakham, Kalimpong in India. The camp was inaugurated on March 6.
Ten Bangladeshi painters from different genres have taken part at the camp which is now being held at Neora Valley in Kalimpong. Participating artists are—- Ranjit Das, Ahmed Shamsuddoha, Sheikh Afzal Hossain, Shishir Bhattacharjee, Aloptogin Tushar, Anisuzzaman, Kamaluddin, Shohag Parvez, Ruhul Amin Tarek and Shahanoor Mamun.
Galleri Kaya, one of the leading art galleries in Bangladesh, in the last 13 years has arranged 98 art exhibitions of which 56 were solos and 43 group art expositions. The gallery also arranged six art camps, six art trips and four workshops. A number of veteran Bangladeshi artists and internationally acclaimed artists have conducted the workshops.
As a gallerist, Goutam has always stressed the importance of maintaining close personal ties with the artistic community. In his love for the arts, he is particularly motivated by his determination to bring more prominence and recognition to the ever-growing community of established and upcoming Bangladeshi artists.
