Satkhira, Sept 27 – A leader of Awami League’s district unit was suspended from his post on Friday for allegedly patronising gamblers.Haydar Ali Tota was the information and research secretary of the ruling party’s Satkhira unit.
Md Nazrul Islam, secretary of the unit, said the decision was made at an emergency meeting on Thursday night. Tota was asked to explain why he should not be suspended permanently.
Police detained nine people along with Tk 49,000 when they were gambling at Tota’s place in the district town on September 25. – UNB
