Gas supply suspended in Narayanganj, Munshiganj

Dhaka, Apr 6: Gas supply to Narayanganj and Munshiganj areas has been suddenly suspended for repair work.
Due to leakage in some valves in Narayanganj’s Siddhirganj-Godnail RMS (Gas Pressure Control and Supervision Center) and Godnail TBS (Town Border Station), gas supply was suspended around 10 am, said a press release from the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources on Tuesday. Once the valves are replaced, the gas supply will be restored, the release added.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has directed the Titas authorities to restore gas supply to Narayanganj and Munshiganj areas as soon as possible.
Expressing regret over the inconvenience caused to the public due to non-availability of gas supply, Nasrul Hamid said that the work of valve replacement would be completed as soon as possible and gas supply would be restored, reports UNB.
People were seen rushing to restaurants for breakfast due to the suspension of gas supply while some city dwellers are using gas cylinders or clay stoves for cooking lunch.
