German Embassy listening stories of climate change effects

Dhaka, Oct 28 (UNB) – The German Embassy in Dhaka has started talking to locals to know their stories about climate change as the effects of climate change are becoming more and more visible.

Many people in Bangladesh suffer from the negative impacts and if it is river erosion, salinity, droughts or flooding, climate change is a huge threat to the population, said the Embassy on Monday.

On Friday, a film production team conducted interviews in the Korail slum and Mohakhali to interview locals about their stories about climate change.

All in all they will listen to people from different areas in Dhaka, where many people have migrated to, as climate change made life in their villages impossible, said the Embassy.

A documentary demonstrating the effects of climate change on the people’s life in Bangladesh will be produced through the process.

It will be launched at a photo exhibition that showcases the winner of a photo competition on Climate Change.
