Goa GM Chess: Bangladeshi Ziaur Rahman shares top slot

Dhaka – Bangladeshi Grand Master, Ziaur Rahman of Saif SC sharing the top slot in the 1st Goa International Open Grandmasters Chess Tournament with seven other players securing full four points after the 4th round matches in Goa of India on Monday.IM Abu Sufian Shakil of Sheikh Russel CC earned 2.5 points, FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy and FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Sheikh Russel CC bagged two points each.

IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin of Bangladesh Navy, CM Ikramul Haq Siam of Titas Club and Tahsin Tajwar Zia of Golden SC bagged 1.5 points each while Mohammad Amir Ali Rana of Golden SC bagged one point and M Masum Rahi earned 0.5 point.

In the day’s 4th round matches, GM Zia beat GM Amonatov Farrukh of Tajikistan, IM Shakil drew with Aditya Guhagarkar of India, FM Nasir lost to Mushini Ajoy of India, FM Parag beat Arnav Maheshwari of India, IM Minhaz beat Sabitha Shri of India, CM Siam beat Dharani Srinivas of India, Tahsin drew with Mahajan Ayush of India, Rana lost to Anupam Sreekumar of India while Rahi drew with Khan Yunus of India.UNB
