Golfer Siddikur resurges in BBO

Dhaka, Feb 2 (UN – Famed Bangladesh golfer Siddikur Rahman resurgent in the $300,000 tournament of the Bashundhara Bangladesh Open after the cut-round at Kurmitola Golf Club on Thursday.Siddikur moved up to the joint 5th place from the joint 29th slot scoring five-under-par (137), six shots behind the leader Jazz Janewattananond (Thailand) who maintained the top slot scoring 11-under-par (131) in the 3rd edition of the tournament.The Tiger Woods of Bengal, Siddikur shared the 5th place with Dodge Kemmer (USA), having their identical score.The 32-year old and two-time Asian Tour winner, Siddikur started the day with back on the 1st round score of even-par 71 and played a dismal bogey to put the 1st hole in the 2nd round, but traded six sweet birdies to set the tone with five-under-par 66.Dulal Hossain (placed joint 22nd; one-under-par 141), Sajib Ali (placed joint 31st; even-par 142), Zamal Hossain Mollah (placed joint 31st; even-par 142), Zia (placed joint36th; one-over-par143), Badal Hossain (placed joint 36th; one-over-par143), Nazim (placed joint 36th one-over-par143), Shomrat Shikder (placed joint 5o; two-over-par 144), Akbar Hossain (placed joint 64th; three-overpar145) and Robin Miah (placed 64th; three-overpar145) were the other Bangladeshi golfers who made their successful cut to stay in the race of the last 73.A total of 39 Bangladesh golfers were taking part in the tournament while the total participants were 131 from 23 countries.
