A housewife was trampled to death by a herd of elephants at Uttar Guapanchak in Anowara upazila early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Debi Rani, 45, wife of Dr Arun Kanti Dey of the area.Quoting family sources, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sheikh Zobair, said a herd of elephants swooped on the village in the night.
At one stage, the herd of elephants attacked Debi Rani while she was trying to flee , leaving her dead on the spot.
