IBBL organized Doa Mahfil on the martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu

Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited organized a discussion and Doa Mahfil on occasion of 41st anniversary of martyrdom of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 13, 2016, Saturday at Mohammad Younus Auditorium of Islami Bank Tower. Engr. Mustafa Anwar, Chairman of the Bank addressed the program as chief guest. Presided over by Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Managing Director & CEO, the program was addressed by M. Azizul Haq, Vice Chairman, Professor Syed Ahsanul Alam, Chairman, Executive Committee, Helal Ahmed Chowdhury, Chairman, Audit Committee, Prof. Dr. Qazi Shahidul Alam, Md. Syful Islam, FCA, FCMA and Md. Joynal Abedin, directors of the bank as special guests. Muhammad Abul Bashar, Deputy Managing Director, Abu Reza Mohd. Yeahia, Executive Vice President and Company Secretary and Md. Aminur Rahman, President of Islami Bank Officer Kallyan Samiti addressed the program among others. Top executives of head office, heads of zones and branches in Dhaka participated in the program. Mufti Sayeed Ahmad, Vice Chairman of the Shari’ah Supervisory Committee of the bank conducted the Doa Mahfil.
Engr. Mustafa Anwar as chief guest said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had the sole dream to build out the Golden Bangla through economic emancipation and achieving self reliance. He struggled all his life for making a hunger, poverty and illiteracy free, non-communal, happy and prosperous Bangladesh. Islami Bank has been partnering the government initiatives in implementing the dreams, thought and ideology of Bangabandhu, he added. He expressed firm commitment to play bold role in economic growth, balanced development and poverty eradication of the country.
Speakers in the session said, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman opened the door of establishing Islamic bank by joining in the second OIC summit in 1974. Tajuddin Ahmed, Finance Minister in the Bangabandhu government paved the way of establishing Islamic bank in the country through signing in the IDB Charter. As a consequence, Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited was established in the country in collaboration of government and private initiative. Islami Bank has been working in poverty eradication and extension of distributive economics in light of the dreams of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
