IBBL orientation for RDS officers held in city

A daylong orientation programme for Rural Development Scheme (RDS) field officers of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) was held in the city on Monday.Islami Bank Training and Research Academy organised the programme at Mohammad Younus Auditorium of Islami Bank Tower where Managing Director Mohammad Abdul Mannan was present as the chief guest, said a press release.
Addressing on the occasion, Mannan said the bank is working to minimise the gap between the rich and the poor in the light of Islamic wealth distribution principles. It introduced the RDS programme in 1995 with a view to upgrading the living standard of underprivileged people in the rural area.
Over 20 lakh poor people are getting benefits from this scheme, he said, calling upon the newly appointed RDS offices to stand by the rural people who are needy but hard-working by exploring the latent talents of them.
The function was attended, among others, by Deputy Managing Director (DMD) Rafi Ahmed Begh, Executive Vice-president (EVP) & Head of Human Resources Division M Najibur Rahman, EVP & Director General of IBTRA Md Mahfuzur Rahman, EVP and Head of Dhaka Central Zone Md Shamsuzzaman and EVP & Head of Rural Development Division Asheque Ahmad Jebal, the release added.
