A meeting of the Shari`ah supervisory committee of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd (IBBL) was held in the city on Saturday. Mufti Sayeed Ahmad, vice-chairman of the committee and head mufti (Islamic scholar) of Al Jamiatus Siddikiah Darul Ulum presided over the meeting at the city’s Islami Bank Tower, said a press release. The meeting was attended, among others, by Prof Dr Abu Bakr Rafique, member secretary of the committee & Vice Chancellor of International Islamic University, Chittagong, Mohammad Serajul Islam, former principal of Madrasah-E-Mesbahul Ulum, Md Abdur Rakib, former executive president of the bank, Mufti Shamsuddin, muhaddis of Zamea Islamia, Patia, and Abdus Shaheed Naseem, president of Bangladesh Quran Shikkha Society. The meeting took various decisions on compliance of Shari`ah and expressed satisfaction over all activities of the bank. – UNB
