The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is organizing a Launching Ceremony for the 2018 Global Food Policy Report, which will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Lakeshore Hotel in Gulshan, Dhaka. I am writing to warmly invite you to participate in the Launching Ceremony. The 2018 Global Food Policy Report reviews major food policy issues and developments from the past year and offers a look forward to 2018. This year’s report takes an in-depth look at the impacts of globalization—including the movement of goods, investment, people, and knowledge—and the challenge of growing antiglobalization pressures. The report suggests that food systems is at a crossroads in South Asia. Although Bangladesh has made commendable progress in food and nutrition security, significant challenges remain, such as mitigating climate change effects, strengthening food value chains, promoting intraregional trade, among other issues. – Press release
