Veteran actor Ilias Kanchan and Bangladeshi film-maker Rubaiyat Hossain have been selected as the jury members of the Dhaka International Film Festival 2019 .Ilias will judge the Asian Competition category, whereas Rubaiyat will be a jury member of Women Film-makers category
Veteran Bangladeshi film actor Ilias Kanchan and internationally acclaimed Bangladeshi film-maker Rubaiyat Hossain have been selected as the jury members of the Dhaka International Film Festival 2019. The full list of 12 jury members were announced on the festival website on Monday.
Ilias will judge the Asian Competition category, whereas Rubaiyat will be a jury member of Women Film-makers category.
The festival submissions will be divided into a total of eight categories: Asian Competition, Retrospective, Bangladesh Panorama, Cinema of the World, Women Film-makers, Children’s Film, Short and Independent, and Spiritual Films. More than 2000 films from 60 countries of the world were submitted into these eight categories.
Rainbow Film Society is organizing the Dhaka International Film Festival-DIFF since 1992 and the 17th edition of DIFF will kick off in Dhaka on January 10, 2019 with their general theme “Better Film, Better Audience, and Better Society.”
The nine-day-long film festival will have film screenings at five venues: Alliance Francaise de Dhaka, Blockbuster Cinemas, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Central Public Library Auditorium, National Museum Auditorium, and Star Cineplex.
