Industrialist Hasan Jamil Sattar, 70, died on Thursday at a Dhaka hospital after being infected with COVID-19.
He was undergoing treatment at United Hospital and passed away at 5pm, said his nephew and Daudkandi Municipality Mayor Nayem Yusuf Sein.
Sattar was suffering from various problems including kidney complication and was hospitalised after testing positive for Covid-19, he said.
He will be buried at the family graveyard of Friday morning, he added.Local MP Mohammad Shubid Ali Bhuiyan and BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, among others, expressed deep shock at his death and prayed for eternal salvation of the departed soul.
