Dhaka, Aug 5 (UNB) – Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun called upon the close associates of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman family members, including Sheikh Kamal, to come forward to share their ideas accurately to the new generations.
“It’s not needed to tell untruth about the family. Tell the truth to the new generations so that they can know the real incidents as many people are spreading false and baseless information to the new generation to divert them,” the minister said this while recalling Sheikh Kamal’s 70th birth anniversary programme titled “Bohumatrik Sheikh Kamal” at the Jatiya Press Club in the capital on Monday.
Bangladesh is a potential country and many foreign countries are coming to invest here. The country will continue to march forward with its pace of development, the minister hoped adding that “so it will not be easy to hatch conspiracy”.
He also recalled his memory with Sheikh Kamal saying “At first I was introduced
to Sheikh Kamal in a playground as I was captain in the sports too,”
The Minister pointed out that whoever met Kamal, they knew how good was Kamal’s character . “New generation do not know many things about him. So you should come forward in this regard.”
Referring to his involvement with politics the Minister mentioned that “I was involved in direct politics being encouraged by Sheikh Kamal. He took me to Jubo league politics from Chhatra Legue.”
Pijush Bandyopadhyay, convener of Sampreti Bangladesh, said that they have been recollecting the memories of Sheikh Kamal for several years on their own.
“Kamal was a multi-talented person. He performed well in various sectors including education and cultural fields.” he added.
Sheikh Kamal’s school friend Major General (retd) Dosto Mohammad Shikder said, “We studied together in class 1. We used to take tiffin during leisure time and talk on many issues. Actually Kamal was a broad-minded person.” Despite being son of a president he was very amicable,” he pointed out.
Major General (retd) Sayed Ahmed described Kamal as a hard-working person saying, “Kamal used to come to my mess whenever he gets time. We would further develop our relationship if he would live till now,” he added.
Meanwhile, Awami League Youth Sports Secretary Harun-Or-Rashid said that Sheikh Kalam’s life style was very simple. He was an active sports organizer too and played important role in the field of sports also.
