Dhaka – Ten players are sitting atop the points table after third round matches in the ongoing Walton International Rating Chess Tournament (Open) 2019.
They are – IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin, FM Mehdi hasan Parag, FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, FM Mohammad Javed, CM Md Sharif Hossain, Md Jamal Uddin, Sk Rashedul Hasan, CM Sohel Chowdhury, Mohammad Aminul Islam and Md Aminul Islam.
All of them secured maximum 3 points each in matches played at the National Sports Council old building on Friday.
In the third round games, IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin defeated Avik Sarker and FM Mehdi hasan Parag beat Jabed Al Azad.
In the other matches of the same round, FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman beat S A Zaker, FM Mohammad Javed beat Mihir Lala Das, CM Md Sharif Hossain beat Matiur Rahman Mamun, Md Jamal Uddin beat Din Mohammad, Sk Rashedul Hasan beat Md Abzid Rahman, CM Sohel Chowdhury beat Gishan Rahman, Mohammad Aminul Islam beat Shahnaz Mohammad Faruque and Md Aminul Islam beat Smbarta Benerjee.
The fourth round games will be played on Saturday from 10am at the same venue.
