Japan seeks to import mango from Bangladesh: Minister

Dhaka, Dec 29 – Japan is keen to import mango from Bangladesh, said Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque.

Japanese Ambassador to Dhaka Naoki Ito expressed the eagerness while talking to the minister at a meeting held at the Secretariat on Sunday.
Bangladesh is one of the leading producers of mango in the world.

Japanese Ambassador to Dhaka Naoki had talks with Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzak on Sunday.

Japan also wants to take skilled manpower in the agriculture sector from Bangladesh.
“The agriculture sector [of Bangladesh] will be fully mechanised and diversified in the next two to three years,” Razzaque said.
He sought cooperation from the Japanese government for commercialising agriculture, poultry and dairy sectors. – UNB
